Marlene Sanborn is an Estate Planning and Business Litigation attorney who practices law in Elk Grove, but her practice extends to several counties in Northern California including, but not limited to, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Alameda, San Mateo, and San Francisco. Marlene Sanborn has been practicing law since 1998. In 1978, she joined the United States Air Force. She was a Flight Engineer on C-130s and on C-5s. She flew C-5s out of Travis Air Force Base from 1989 until she retired from the Air Force in 1995.
After retiring from the Air Force, Marlene then went to law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She graduated in the top ten percent of her class and was a member of the Order of the Coif. She received her Juris Doctor with Distinction. During law school and upon graduation, she worked with an insurance defense firm in Sacramento. In 1999, she went to work with a business litigation and estate planning firm in Stockton, California. She was an associate with that firm until 2006 when she decided to open her own law firm, Sanborn Law.
Her primary areas of practice are Estate Planning, Probate, Commercial/Business Litigation including Construction and Landlord/Tenant Disputes, and General Business. Marlene's estate planning practice includes assisting the clients in understanding the estate planning and distribution process, preparing a tailor made estate plan to meet the client's individual wants and needs, preparing the wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, advanced healthcare directives, and other necessary documents as well as handling probate matters and/or administration of the trusts upon the death of the party.
Marlene's litigation practice focuses on various aspects of real estate including, but not limited to, construction disputes, foreclosure of mechanic's liens, landlord/tenant disputes, contract disputes, ownership disputes, and various other disputes involving real property. Marlene also assists her individual and business clients in general business and corporate matters.
Marlene is a member of the Elk Grove Rotary, the Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce, the San Joaquin County Bar Association, the Sacramento County Bar Association, and LeTip. She is a member of the board of directors of the Strauss Festival of Elk Grove. |
